NBN Basketball Report Middle School Showcase Stock Risers

There were over 40 players registered for the Middle School Showcase. Players from all across the state of Arkansas as well Texas and Tennessee came to Conway, AR to put their skills and a talents on display. I had one parent say this camp had some of the best competition they have seen at any of the camps their daughter attended. Some of the players I have seen before and there were others I was getting to evaluate for the first time. This article discusses 5 players who showed some potential and can see their stock rise over the coming years.

Marley Adebayo | Forward | 5’9 | Maumelle | 2029

Marley has the potential to be something special. She’s an athletic forward that can get up and down the floor, play on the perimeter, rebound, post up, make jumpers, and attack off the bounce. She’s only in the class of 2029 so she still has a lot of time to figure some things out on the floor, but the future is looking bright for Marley. I’ve seen Marley come a long way over the past year and she’s only going to get better. It could be real scary for opponents by the time she gets to high school.

Collins Driscoll | Point Guard | 4’10 | Alma | 2029

Collins is everything that you want in a point guard. She’s quick, she makes good decisions with the ball, can shoot the three, makes plays for her teammates, and have a high IQ. I’ve seen Collins play in a structured environment with her Banshee team and now in a showcase event. In both instances she displayed her skill level and abilities. As she continues to develop and improve her skills she will be handful for her opponents.

De’Asia Neal | Post | 5’6 | Conway | 2029

I’ve seen De’Asia play since she was in first grade. If you’ve seen where she started you’d be really excited about her potential and her future. She doesn’t always show it, but she probably had the best ball handling skills of any of the post players and some of the wings/forwards in the camp. As she gets more comfortable in the type of player she is and the type of player she can be, she will be tough.

Danica Williams | Point Guard | 5’2 | Little Rock | 2029

Danica is another player that I have seen play since the 1st grade and she is coming along nicely with her development. She’s shooting the jumper with more confidence, attacking off the bounce, and making plays for her teammates. Another young player in the class of 2029, Danica is only going to get better over the years to come. As she continues to play and become more comfortable in the type of player she is, she will develop into one of the top players in the 2029 class.

Kinley Edwards | Wing | 5’3 | Rose Bud | 2027

Kinley is a player that has a quiet game. She’ll make a shot here, make a shot there, and then you’ll look up and she’s had a bigger impact on the game than you thought. Kinley has a good understanding of the game and always seems to find herself in the right place at the right time. She also does a solid job on defense. She’s not going to gamble, but play her position and wait for the offense to make a mistake. She’ll continue to get better and develop as she gets ready for high school.
