NBN Basketball Report Middle School Showcase Top Performers

At every event you typically have players that do something that make you remember their name or at least their face. The players in this article had a good showing at the camp. Does it mean they dominated the camp and took over? No. It just means they stood out in their own way. Keep reading to find out which players had good performance at the Middle School Showcase.

Zoey McCall | Post | 5’11 | North Little Rock | 2029

Zoey is a player that continues to impress me. She’s a post player, but is developing her game to be effective from the mid post, high post, and perimeter. She has the ability to make the mid-range jumper off the catch, her footwork in the paint is improving, she rebounds well, and she knows how to control the paint. As her mobility continues to improve she is really going to be a force wherever she plays on the floor. Big upside for this young lady.

Paisley Hogan | Forward | 5’8 | Greenwood | 2029

I love watching players like Paisley play because players like her always play the game the right way. She moves without the ball, knows how to attack off the catch, rebounds well, can run the floor, handles the ball in the open court, and has a nice looking shot. Defensively she understands rotations, help defense, and she knows how to contest by going straight up and not picking up fouls. She is another in the class of 2029 that has a big upside.

Laila Nelson | Guard | 5’3 | Memphis | 2027

Laila wants her respect. She wants people to know she’s watching and listening to what people are saying. This puts a chip on her shoulder and makes her want to get better. I first saw her at the Insider Exposure League in Memphis and was impressed with her game. She’s a player that’s going to play hard, attack on offense, make plays for others, and do whatever needs to be done to help her team. Laila will continue to get better and prove some people wrong and when she do WATCH OUT!

Nicole Jones | Guard | 4’9 | Conway | 2029

Nicole is a player that you have to be paying attention to to really appreciate what she does. She’s not going to come down and do a double crossover, behind the back, step back into a three-pointer. What she will do is relocate on a teammates drive for the catch and shoot. Or she’ll shoot the three if the defense is sagging too far off. Nicole can attack the paint and drop off a nice bounce pass with either hand for her teammate. Solid skill set with a promising future if she continues to develop.

Sadie Minton | Guard | 5’2 | Rose Bud | 2027

I love events like this where I get to learn about new players. Sadie is a player came in, played hard, and did things the right way. She showed her ability to make shots by knocking down jumpers in the mid-range and out to the three-point line. Sadie attacked off the catch, made plays for others, rebounded the ball, had a soft touch around the rim, handled the ball vs pressure and in transition, and she finished in traffic. Sadie is another player in the class of 2027 that you will need to know.
